How much paint?

I'm looking to respray my 280CE Coupe. Going to change the color to 6-822 Forest Green. How much do I need to order? One gallon is $324.00. Is one enough? Thanks again!!

Depends on type/ brand and experience. I just painted a 300 SD for a customer and used about 3 quarts, That was door jambs too. Assuming you're doing base clear, figure on most bases will reduce 2:1 so a gallon will get you 2 gallons reduced. If you go with cheaper paint it will take more than higher priced will. Typically you aren't saving much by using cheap paint as you will need twice as much to cover. PLUS the color match will be much worse.

I've been told it also depends on your spraying equipment - HVLP / LVLP stuff is meant to use less paint

Usually you need a little over twice as much clear.

Primer--well it depends on what you need to do. If you are fixing rusty areas and patching with metal, you will need a non-sanding primer for rust prevention, then a primer surfacer. It depends on the amount of repairs you need to cover.
