W126 lower body cladding

Is the Lower Body Cladding interchangeable between Gen 1 and Gen 2?
Can anyone post the part numbers and a vendor for the various clips used to attach the cladding?

The parts list complete is in the DYI articles. The rear doors are different on some models. The SDL and SEL have longer rear doors so the trim is longer on those than the SE and SD models.

I bought a tool off of e bay which popped the trim off with ease. Use a piece of thin plastic between the trim and body to protect the paint and follow the FSM for directions on unhooking the tops and bottoms.

Mercedes has the clips and I recommend you buy them from the dealership.

Thanks--especially for the picture of the tool!

Gen I "Sacco Panels" only came in 4 colours (from memory) and had horizontal ridges that continue down the length of the car whereas Gen II came in 12 (I think) colours and were flat/smooth. The added colour choices meant they were essentially colour coded to the vehicle.
Both generations had chrome stripping along the tops but I don't think they were interchangable.
Hope that helps!
