As you know, the W210 4Matic front suspension is a different animal to the RWD one. The 4Matic isn't (as hard) affected by the rusted out spring perches as the RWD models due to this.

But - right above the spring perch, there is a recess where the brake line comes through, and a little bit higher up, the upper control arm is mounted.

The lower part of this recess is a flat surface, and of course a perfect breeding ground for rust, as mud and dirt accumulates here, if the owner doesn't pay attention.

I recently picked up an E430 4Matic with rust here. The area around the hole for the brake line is absolutely rusted out, and it has spread to the bottom of the recess too.

Now, just need to find someone who wants to tackle this. The rest of the car isn't too bad..
