Should I invest $ in 240D rust repair?
I need some SUPPORT as in support group. I startin to feel a little wierd about being the only one on the road with a twenty year old diesel "biplane" whil everyone else drives $25000 brand new cars....
Ii have a nice 240D with the usual collection of odd stuff it takes time to fix, like right now the vacuum locks need work and a swiming pool in the back passenger side every time it rains. I just put a real nice engine in it, i figure I would use it a year or for a commuter car, but the engine replacement went so well, now I am getting ambitious. I am thinking of fully restoring it, like my 300D, which doesnt miss one bit of trim or function. However I have rust underneath the rear quarter panels/rear wheel weels that would take some money to repair. Thats the only thing keeping this car from going a Longgggg way... Well the car is almost 20 years old....is it worth it? I need some SUPPORT as in support group. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/rtc9/BENZ.html |

Matthew 6:19
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures.....where......rust destroy(s)..." Rust can eat up steel almost as fast as it "eats" up money. I'd get an idea of cost from a few sources first; rear quarter panel replacement can let the project get out of hand quickly....but if it could be only repaired. Amount of rust vs. amount of money.
