Sedona, AZ

I lived in Cottonwood near Sedona in 1999-2000. I used Black Motors Ltd. in Sedona for some work on my 300D. They are the only Mercedes shop in the area that I know of. I was satisfied with the work they did. I had all hoses replaced, new glow plugs and a few other minor repairs. The owner is Paul Davis and he has many years of experience on Mercedes. I think he used to have a shop in the Phoenix area. The labor rate was $ 69 per hour. They have a web site at "www.blackmotors.com" Phone no. is 520 282-6621. If you need any additional info please contact me. Are you going to be working in the Verde Valley?

Thanks Richard, I'm going to be moving to the Verde Valley pretty soon. I'm not sure what part yet, maybe Cottonwood or Clarkdale, somewhere between Prescott and Sedona. My wife and I are going to visit the area the 13th of May. A friend of mine is also moving with us. I was just hoping that there was a shop familiar with MB in the area in case I come up against a job I can't do myself. It's nice to know that there will be one pretty close. Thanks, andy

Have you tried German Auto at 5244 N 7th St. I dont know how good they are but they might be worth investigating.

Shop in Scottsdale, Arizona

Hello,

German Car Service has done excellent job on my MB over the last 4-5 years. I went there knowing my father's opinion that they are the best, most reputable Mercedes shop. From what I know, they've been working on MBs for over 30 years. Kenny Sr. (owner) and Edis are the experts there. They made my MB ownership affordable through high quality work at very fair prices.

I recommend them to everyone. I just moved to Dallas and wish it was closer to Arizona, so that I could continue to service my car there. German Car Service is on McDowell Rd just east Scottsdale Rd. Their phone # is 480-970-6776.

Second

They also have a very good diesel wrench over there. He has done work on mine and he drives diesels exclusively. He lives a few streets over from my Mom & Pop and is a great help. If you want to sell a diesel see him. His name is Louie. He also got me hooked on the 240 manny tranny. I looked and looked for one of those.

Anyone in Arizona take their car to...

German Auto service. Are they honest? prices?

nckmsn 12-02-2005 11:09 AM

I haven't been there, but I have bought two diesels out of phoenix and they both had all of their maint. records from that shop.

German Auto

NCKMSN. Can you comment on the work that they did? Were there any issues that surfaced after you bought them with the stuff they had done? I've been there many times looking for a good deal - they somtimes have cars for sale, but never been able to swing it yet. So no personal knowledge of their honesty etc.

Well I took my 280ce there, and altough not all my problems have been fixed, I highly reccomend them. They remembered my car. Apparently the liitle old lady who first owned my car took it to them. She also had everything little thing fixed. anyway... they are very nice and honest.

deanyel 12-04-2005 09:25 PM

They're good but on the high side price wise. Phoenix is blessed to have three very good, honest, reasonably priced Mercedes shops - Schulte (Mike) Automotive on 7th Ave around Camelback, MB Motors (Bud) on East McDowell and Goodys in North Scottsdale.

Scott G. 12-05-2005 07:57 PM

For the record, Schulte auto has screwed me over twice, but the second time they admitted they were at falt and fixed the promlem.
