Does anyone out there know of a reputable independent in the Long Beach-Cerritos-Los Alamitos area of California. I have found a 91 560SEC I am thinking of purchasing out there and need to have a independent check it out. I live in Ventura County (over 100 MI away) and no nothing about the mechanics in the area were the seller lives.

Anybody know any good alignment shops in the Long Beach/South Bay area, especially ones that aren't freaked out by Eibach springs? I just had a most unpleasant and expensive experience at the Long Beach Mercedes dealer's when I took my car in for alignment...they really laid it on thick about how they don't recommend these springs and they don't know how to deal with them, and how they shouldn't be on my car, etc. etc.

Like they never heard of Eibach before....

I've tried to do business with these people but they either screw up the car or tell me what a POS it is, or both. I'm never going back. You'd think I could just get an alignment (or other simple stuff done) without the earful of crap that seems to go with it. I'm beginning to hate dealers.

Maybe I'm just venting. But any recommendations would be welcome.

Help. We may be moving to Merced, Calif. Any of you California MB owners know of a good shop in or near Merced? (By "near," I mean within an hour's drive.)Thanks much.

I use Johnson Alignment, 340 Van Ness Ave, Torrance. 310-533-1511. Not too far from the 110 or 405. He has been there for years and even does older stuff. Make an appointment and tell them you want to wait, they will do it unless there is big repairs. Ed

Bob repaired my car. He did a total head rebuild and some other minor parts replacements. Total bill was $1500 and I'm really happy with the work and Bob is a great fellow.

Advanced European Automotive (AEA)on Stockdale Hiway is a great shop. Only works on MBs and BMW. Very fair and honest. Owners name is Dave and always has time to test drive or listen to the car as soon as you bring it in. I have been very happy and have recommended to several of my MBs friends and all have been happy also.
