a "proper invoice" will have the date of service, etc... i may have mentioned this above - Enrique claimed that his computer doesn't work and this is his excuse for demanding cash and failing to write an invoice have fun |

ok how about this. full headgasket with complete head rebuild, replace right rear wheel bearing, transmission service, oil change, replace burned out bulbs and a few more little things done, all for in the neighborhood of $1600.00 with tax..
Or how about another time when I had a cooling issue. turned out to be a faulty radiator cap which he diagnosed and replaced at no charge. how about the many times he recharged my ac for me and didn't charge me because he knew that I needed the evaporator core and how much it would cost to fix it. Guess what after a few recharges, the system sealed itself and has been blowing ice cold for the last 4 years. There have been plenty of times when I have been there and he has done little things for me and not charged. Why does he do that, because that is one of the things he does for his clients, takes care of them. How about a tranny rebuild when I lost 4th gear for less than $1500.00. how about on my 87 560sel that I used to have, dealership said it needed a new transmission for a ridiculous price. He fixed it for less than $300.00. All money well spent for the work done. Why not just drop it, you don't like the service he gave, fair enough you have repeated yourself plenty of times about it. Those of us who have posted in here do like his service and prices. Why try to convince us that he is evil incarnate and doesn't know how to fix cars. He has been doing it for well over 40 years and has proven that to plenty of people time and again. I know george at MBZ motors, I see him weekly when he comes to my work to buy parts. He is a good guy and has a nice shop. He also sends cars to us for repairs too. Met plenty of people happy with him. The bottom line here is people have choices and the ones who praise Enrique do so because they truly like the service and pricing they have gotten from him. Plenty of people don't like going to a dealership because of the prices, but plenty will only go to the dealership because they like it and they feel the higher price is fair for the level of service they get. We have plenty of happy clients and plenty of unhappy people, that is just the nature of any business.

Enrique worked on my 280SE 4.5 yesterday.
He replaced the auxiliary fan, the thermo temp switch, the fan clutch on the hydraulic fan, fixed the horn, and replaced the right front turn signal indicator with a new one I bought at the dealer. He spent at least 3 hours on my car, off and on, as he was waiting for parts. He only charged me for one (1) hour labor.

Enrique at Mr. MB Motors incorrectly diagnosed this problem E300 Code P-0243 troubleshooting..... as the EGR transducer. Enrique wanted $300 plus just for the part which the Dealer sells for much less.
Just telling the truth boys - so use this shop at your own risk! |

I've been to his shop more than two dozen times easily over the last 5-7 years, and his shop has always been full every time I've been there. You really need to get a life, Willy.

I have not been on this thread for awhile and all I can say is WOW!!
I had Enrique service my car on a few occasions. He was referred to me by members of this board after I signed up on here because I did not know what else to do. I had Keyes European telling me I needed a head gasket which was a pretty pricey repair. When I came on this board and described the problem with my car, most people on here said it sounded like a water pump and go to Mr. MB Motors. I drove over there and Enrique took about a 60 second look and told me I needed a water pump not a head gasket, and he showed me my coolant leak and he showed me where it was leaking out to. Enrique fixed my car. I had to beg him to put in a new radiator also. The radiator was old and since I was getting a new water pump, some of the guys on here suggested that I replace the radiator also. It took me a few days of twisting his arm, but he finally agreed to put in a new radiator. He said there was nothing wrong with the one I had, so I was just wasting money. He also did replaced some minor things I was missing here and there and did not charge me. When I picked up my car he sat down with me for like a half an hour and explain some things to me about a head gasket and a water pump. I am female, I don't spend time under the hood of my car except to change my oil and air filer. I was very grateful for him taking the time to explain a few things to me. I was sad to loose him as my mechanic when I moved up to the Sacramento area, but once again this board came through and referred me to an excellent independent Mercedes mechanic. |

Recently had my 300CE head gasket, water pump, valve job and such done. Verrrry fair price and this guy is the bomb.
Sent my brother to him with tranny problems on his ML and he fixed that without replacing the tranny. My brother is verrry happy with him as well. I have, nor will many of the members have anything bad to say about him. Maybe a mistake happened, it could, but bashing him is ridiculous. This is the most fair and honest guy I know of in LA.

Another Thank You to Enrique and his Staff
My son called to say the fan belt on his 1988 300ce self-destructed, car was towed to dealer, needed new belt tensioner. Dealer wanted three hours labor, way too much in my view. I went to LA to visit for 6 days, and while there tried to do the repair myself but, after removing all the pulleys, realized I didn't have necessary tools to finish the job, nor the desire. I called Enrique and made an appointment, arranged a tow and went with the car. I watched Carlos finish the job, and learned how to do it right. I showed Enrique the vinyl side cladding on the passenger door and asked if they had the clips to reinstall it. They did, and they did. I also mentioned the front passenger window was not working; they checked/tested the electrical connections, found some solder gunk in the fuse socket and removed it, swapped out some broken window switches with good ones I had brought, and voila, the window works!! And I had expected to have to buy a new motor or regulator. Then, on his own Jorge noticed my overflow tank hose was frayed and asked if I wanted it replaced, which he did. When I asked Enrique for the bill, he had charged me a whopping $10 more than the estimate for just the tensioner repair alone, tax included. Better service and helpfulness I have never seen in any repair shop, anywhere.
A special thanks to Jorge and Carlos. Richard

hey guys just got back from enrique at mr.mb in reseda..
his inspection wasn't very through, no checklist or anything, and he didn't address anything or hook up any computers or anything until i pointed things out he told me to fix only whats essential for the safety of me and, that my car is running healthy, and is going to need little things here and there.. anyways i got exhaust hangers (all of them but 1, i brought the part in) oil change, 20w-40, and a new oil filter air filter - charged me 35$ for it, but i told carlos to clean the airbox too, and next time ill change it myself as i can get it for 10 bucks online -serpentine belt carlos saw that the little connector to the throttle body wasn't good and changed it even without asking -the only things that bothered me are that they inspected the car with their eyes and that carlos said he hates seeing error lights on classics, he disconnected my windshield wiper fluid sensor basically they didn't do a real inspection, just kind of put it on the rack, and went over it with their eyes.. i brought him a list, and enrique said that i kind of checked many things by myself already and he shrugged when i asked about system internals, they kind of shrugged and said that its another job, that they have to open it up and they didn't bother to go on a test drive until i asked, then they recommended i fix some stuff and he said he'd check the vacuum system for me, but he didn't bother.. no compression checks or smoketest or anything.. they said if it passes smog it should be fine. jim b i read a post saying alon recommended and enrique kind of said i know him.. haha anyways i would go to blvd auto if you want a checklist of all the things to fix and inspection as i heard they are through, but laborwise, enrique isn't too bad i ended up paying $291.55 for the whole job wondering if i got ripped or not. but the guy seems fair. parts said 200$ including the oil and labor was 90 ~ friend says i got ripped, but i did pay factory prices.. guess ill bring some things in myself next time.. also there was a v12 swap going into a 560 sec O_o Last edited by gabzor; 02-09-2012 at 01:48 AM. |
