Enrique is still in business. They closed down for two weeks, maybe for some vacation time.

He's taken a quick vacation and should be back next week.

Chain of command is changing at Mr. MB Motors, Enrique is retiring this week. His replacement is Vic, who has worked under Enrique for many years gong back to mid 80's and Enrique speaks very highly of Vic, so we should be in good hands moving forwards. The rest of the techs are staying put.

I no longer have my cars serviced at Mr. MB Motors. Enrique has taken good care of my two MBs over the years and for the past five, has performed routine maintenance on my Lexus hybrid SUV. (Yeah, I have too many cars.) Just stuff like oil and filters on the Lexus.

However, last time I called to make an appointment to have the oil changed in the Lexus, Vic told me that he no longer works on BMWs and Lexus. That's sad because I really like the work that Carlos and Jorge perform.

Enrique retired back to Spain and took his V12 with him earlier this year. I don't know who he sold the shop to. I'm sure some of you guys do. Anyway I've heard Malibu Motors and Herbert down on 14th and Pico are both good shops on the west side. I have also heard that Steve at Circle Star (I think) is a good diesel mechanic. No direct experience with any of them.

FWIW,
Karl

I hope Enrique is enjoying his well deserved retirement in Spain but he is greatly missed!

Has anyone had good visits to Mr. MB Motors recently?

Now that Enrique has retired, is the shop still as good as before?

Enrique was the man! Such a sad day when he told me he was moving to Spain. Great guy, is very missed and if I ever get over to Spain I will look him up. Once I found Enrique's shop around 2007 I drove from Ventura for everything I had done on my cars. I even bought his 95 300 gasser when I totaled my 95 300 diesel and sold it for a profit.

That being said, he put his shop in good hands with Vic and the mechanics stayed on. I still take my Mercedes there exclusively and Vic is probably the best replacement for which you could ask and I couldn't be happier unless Enrique were to come back.

Mr MB is still highly recommended.
