Positive California Experience!
HI all! I’m pretty new to the forum. I have benefited greatly from previous posts so I thought I would share a very positive experience with an independent MBZ Mechanic in California.
I recently took my newly acquired 380SL (82 with 29,272 miles) to Vintage Mercedes Service Shop in Sanger CA., near Fresno. I will tell you that after owning Mercedes for almost 20 years, this was the best experience I have ever had, bar none. I live in a remote area that is almost 2 hours from the nearest dealer. In the past, my experience with the dealer always left me feeling like I had been sexually assaulted. Ernie at Vintage Mercedes Service Shop was not only extremely helpful prior to the purchase, the work he performed after the purchase was professional, honest, and my SL was treated with the utmost respect. The man not only “knows” the ins and outs of Vintage Mercedes, he has a great appreciation for them! I will tell you that for me it’s 3 hours each way to his shop, and I will make the trip again!
