In case anyone is looking. I was going to the local hardware store yesterday and passed a repair shop that has been closed for a few months and saw some people moving stuff into the space and a Mercedes sign over the door so I stopped and talked to the owner. I asked him if he worked on diesels and he said yes and that he recently sold his SDL with 450k on it. I doen't know if they will be a good shop or not but if I have issues with my car I at least ask them about it.

I was just there yesterday and love the shop. Ben is an independent who left with his buddy (who now runs http://www.collieautoworks.com/ ) from a Mercedes dealership to start on his own.

The shop is clean and organized. Ben, without asking for a cent from me, put my 240D on the lift and he started inspecting trying to find the problem. Hes definitely a Mercedes enthusiast like we are and cares about the cars. Didn't end up getting any service there as he referred me to Collie Autoworks for my transmission rebuild but all in all, highly recommended
