1988 300e knocking

I looked under the hood and there appears to be what seems to me to be an engine shock that is attached to the front of the engine and a bushing seems to be missing where it is attached and therefore banging against the bolt it's attached to...

Am I correct in thinking this is an engine shock? and can the bushing be replaced or do I have to buy the whole part? It's attached on the same level as the injectors or close to it.

thanks for your help
Ken

carnac - You may want to post this in the Car Tech forum. Someone there will probably have an answer for you.
I don't know if it should have a bushing. When mine started ratteling, I just took it to MR. MB and he made the problem go away
