Just wondering if you have got the brakes serviced by this mechanic and what was your experience? I'm really close by to his location so it would be nice to know there's a trustworthy mercedes mechanic around. By the way, is the shop at a 76 gas station?

Picked up my '99 CLK320 yesterday. Ruben sorted out all the problems, including new cats, all new plastic vacumn hoses (he used Lexus hoses, which are supposed to be more durable), and smog test. All for less than $1,500! Although I live in Las Vegas it's worth the drive to Fullerton to have him give my car the care it needs. Forgot to mention, that price included $30 worth of gas and $95 to have the car towed to Anaheim Mercedes where I was ripped off for a new EIS module. Ruben was kind enough to pickup the car at the stealership before completing the above work. This gentleman is one of the very best!

So here's my review. Ruben is a super nice guy and very obliging. I got my calipers replaced by him (rebuilt) as well as an entire front suspension done on another car (both 300D). He installed 2 front Bendix calipers and they worked great until i went to do my brakes and found that the piston on one of them was siezed (rebuilt-understandable). I rushed over to him literally 20 min after my discovery and he ordered another one and replaced it for me right there for free!! He is very reasonable price wise. My only concern is that i think he get distracted easily. example: he never replaced my brake sensors - and i dont mean he used the same old ones - rather he took the old ones out and just never put new ones in. He changes some fuel lines on my buddies 300TD and didn't tighten one all the way and 1/2 tank of fuel was lost on the road.

All in all i think he is a great resource for diy'ers who dont want to spend alot of money and have some knowledge of whats going on but dont have the space for more involved projects. He will install parts that you bring to him - where most guys wont.

2 front calipers, front brakes P+L = $650
Front end bushings + new tie rod = $300
