Need a shop in truckee

My cars dead in truckee CA.

Idiot or adventurouse? clogged injectors or dead IP?

I have it at tire and Auto Doctor but they never return my calls and I'm not sure they know what they are doing.

Any other good places in 100 miles (AAA towing) for a 80 300td?

thanks

100 miles puts Reno within your towing range. Others have had good things to say about:

Michel Bros.
608 E. 5th St.
775-329-1356

and Stuttgart Motors, also in Reno.

I had it looked at the tire and auto doctor in Truckee. They've said they think the head is blown but they don't have a compression tester. It didn't blow while I was driving it.

I think I'm going to try and hot wire the plugs directly from the battery and see if that gets it going. The plugs were not hot to the touch after cycling them a few times so I think somethings wrong with the circuit.

And Ernie is really, really good, and very reasonable and will fix it right. I know it personally, he takes care of several of Shopforum members' cars.

It is worth the flatbed ride and probably is within the AAA 100 mile envelope, though I am not sure of that but you can put the address in Mapquest, Google maps etc to be sure.

He is at 6326 Main St #12 in Orangevale / (916) 989-4973 / bnzdoc1@yahoo.com

Thanks for the advice. 89 miles so I think it will be okay. I'm going to go up Wednesday, and if I can't get it going then I'm going to tow it there.

Dose he happen to dislike veggie/bios Cars? Some Mechanics faces get sour when these cars have been modified.

I talked to Ernie and he was very helpful with some info

1. Dash light stops blinking when two plugs have gone out
2. If you keep trying to start a dead car, fuel seeps pass the cylinders and creates less compression so makes starting even harder.

So I'm getting it towed to him today.

Thanks for the advice
