Recommended repair shops in San Diego?

I've had a look through the Shops' forum; comments regarding San Diego repair shops seem a little out of date and even then some appear to be at variance with my own experiences.

Anyone got any recommendations to make - either way - as to where one may take an '89 420SEL for repair work (no one problem in particular)?

Where specifically are you located in San Diego? And which shops "appear to be at variance" with your own experiences?

Check out Jim F.'s website. He recommends Exclusive Motors:

Hello Paul . . . long time, no post!!

Exclusive Motors is no longer recommended by me. Have gone there since the mid-90s but their attitude has changed. When Pat was there, the shop was "the-BEST" . . but after his death and over the years, the shop is taken the "commercial" route and prices are not in the customers favor. More info here

Ditto . . . Jim . . . last I remember is a bldg you erected for cars . . and everything else???

Doing ok here . . working on the '94 S500 . . haven't touched it in about 7 years . . just sat in the garage. Last couple years drove about 500 miles!

If you don't mind going in to Tijuana, there is an excellent Mercedes mechanic in Playas de Tijuana.
