1983 300D maintenance cost, good deal? Mechanic Recommendation?
 

Im looking for a mechanic in the LA area, my brother suggests his mechanic, Jeff Phillips, who runs DIY Biofuels, my friend suggests another guy who's name escapes me.

My friend did send me this run down of some costs he got charged though, is this a good deal?

It cost $980 to:
Injection Pump replacement (used part)
Motor Mount Replacement
Fix Power Steering Leak
Fix Coolant Leak
Replace front brake pads
Reattach Shutoff Valve
Replace Fuel Filter

Got the car today, used Jeff Phillips, great guy, great price, great mechanic, and he drove to me no less, as the owner of the car I was looking at would not let me take his car for an hour.

To pay someone else to do the job that price doesn't sound too bad at all - it would probably be twice that amount over here!
