Downtown/Mid-Wilshire MB Shop?

I've been reading everything here that tells me to go to Mr. MB. Although I'm sure that shop is exactly what I'm after, I can't spend the time to get there from Downtown LA where I live and work.

There must be a great shop somewhat near Downtown that lives and breathes Mercedes.

Anyone have any ideas? Current issue is suspension oriented.

Thanks,
Craig

MR MB is almost a 500 mile trip one way, but it is worth it!

You know what?

I have been a long distance customer of Enrique for many years, especially for the big and difficult jobs on the Mercedes' autos that I have owned, for many many years..he has worked on ALL of them, and every time I brought them in from far away Nor Cal.

You know what? I live in Grass Valley and he is in the San Fernando Valley, and the money I have saved and the peace of mind and confidence in doing it right, has maded it worth it to go there every single time.

Why, even now, I have just had him replace the entire engine on my 560SEC with a Euro 300 hp ECE engine, and the price was amazingly affordable, much less than I ever thought it could be.

This even considering a 500 mile trailer haul of the car, and return, and the car runs beautifully, with the new engine in, and everything was attended to perfectly.

Enrique knows these cars inside and out, aas well he should, having been the cheif Service Manager at Bevery Hills Ltd. Mercedes Benz up to 1986 when he retired and opened his own shop that he still operates. Did you know his entire working life since 1961 has been involved with repair of Mercedes Benz cars? Even in South Africa and Brazil?

He is the best. You are ridiculously close to him. Just take the freeway and go over the Hollywood Hills or drive through them and get off at Laurel Canyon and drive left down Ventura Blvd. through Encino and Tarzana and there you are.

~~~~
Coming in from Nor Cal for the new engine.
Car still driveable, but head gasket going out.
Into MR MB's shop. He is very careful. Stores it at night.
Work in progress
DONE!!! Perfect!!! 11/19/2011
Enrique grabs the VIN off the car to write up the bill.
Flying in Saturday to bring it back home. This time I will drive it back to San Fran. Pick up the Outback at the airport an store the car for a few days, the ome back and get it.
Worth all that trouble for all of this? Heck yeah! MR MB is really that good! And very budget friendly and never sells you anything your car does not need. he told me "Doing that is cheating my customers".
His reputation is well earned and there is a good reason he has a large loyal cadre of followers.
