MB Diesel Car Meets / Clubs in Los Angeles Area?

Hello Forum,

I am relative newbie to MBZ and MBZ diesel although have extensive experience with European vehicle tuning and repair.

With other platforms I have enjoyed there have been groups that meet and swap parts, stories, work on making group projects, etc.

Are there any clubs or meetings that happen with like-minded enthusiasts in the Los Angeles area?

The MBCA website lists local MB members chapters geographically. You have to pony up $45.00 +/- annually to be a paid member to attend any of the events, though. However, just to view your local chapter's club time and events, is free to do so. Might be something you rather enjoy - diesel or not. There's always a few diesel heads in any MBCA membership!

Contact ROLLGUY (Rich). Rich and his brother coordinate a driving tour of Mercedes diesels. I belong to the LA chapter of the MBCA, but am no longer active, since the national MBCA destroyed the MBCA forums. If you are looking for parts/service in So Cal let me know, plus there are many other oil burners from So Cal on this forum.

There is a classic Mercedes meet coming up on October 1st in Long Beach at the Mercedes Benz VPC. It's from 10am-12pm at 3860 N Lakewood Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90808.

What time did you get there and which car was yours?

I arrived at 10:00 am. I was driving my white 1983 300TD wagon (non-European version). There was also a white Euro 300TD wagon there.

Nice wagon! I saw when you were leaving. The white Euro wagon and black wagon are from our club which held that event(3 Point Social Club). We're still a small group which is why the turnout wasn't "huge" but are slowing gathering more local classic Mercedes to hang out, etc. If you're local, we'll be attending the European Marque Day on November 6 at Super Car Sunday in Woodland Hills.

When will you meet again in Long Beach? I have two other W123 cars and would like to bring them.

That was the first time we've met there since the MB VPC usually works on Saturday's so I don't see us meeting there again anytime soon.

I understood from talking to a fellow at the meet that one of your club members works at the VPC. I think it would be great to organize a tour of the VPC. Any chance that could be arranged? Thanks.

That is correct, he does work there and he usually works on Saturday's. There was a meet there earlier this year along with a private tour of the facility and also had a large meet there called Cinco de Benzo back in May. So far those are the only meets that have been held there but I'm sure I can ask him and see if they can get permission to arrange another meet and tour there. If you'd like, send me a PM on here and I can let you know the next time we'll be around or have another meet nearby.

Thumbs up So. Cal. Meets & Greets !

I'm in .

I could bring a Diesel Coupe, Sedan or Wagon.....

Nov. 6th is right after my birthday and there's a Motocycle Ride (Hansen Dam) that day so I can't make that but I'm always interested in meets & greets, we used to have tours too, much fun , mostly Diesel Heads .

Sounds good. I'll post something in here next time a few of us gather up for a meet/event.
