Arizona

I know that there isn't a ton of activity here but I figured I would give it a try anyways... Anyone on this forum in AZ?

Indeed good sir, running a 300TD in Phoenix! Just started taking the forum scene serious now that I've dropped some dollars into a transmission rebuild.

Yep, quite a few forum members call Arizona home.

Smile AZ members

What part of the state do you live in? There's at least 5 other members that I know of in Tucson, although most of them rarely make an appearance online. There is probably a dozen or so other members in the state at minimum, esp. in the Greater PHX area and northwards. It would be kind of cool to know the exact number of members, state by state.

Lake Havasu Here

I am brand new to this forum. I am in Lake Havasu and have a '71 W114 250c. I am in need of parts to put this car back on the road. I would like to see if there are people on here nearby.

Most of them are in the Phoenix area. Tri-Star usually has a good selection.

Not much down here in the Southern part.

Parts I am missing

I am missing the carb linkage for both carbs...
I am missing the right fender spear
I am missing the left rear window motor
I am missing the left rear trim above the tail light to the trunk lock
I am missing the antenna mounting parts and pieces
I am missing the fuel sending unit and spare tire hold down pieces.
If I get these parts and pieces I can at least put her back on the road and then start the hunt for interior parts and pieces that are missing.
The guy who I got the car from was NOT mechanical at all. He tried to be, but he failed miserably .
So, Any help in locating the missing parts and pieces would be greatly appreciated!

Fender spear? Are you referring to the chrome strip on the fender? If so then all W114/115's use the same piece. Not model specific.

Window motor or the regulator?

Same as above for the rear trim piece. Only the door and rear wing chrome bits are coupe specific. Every thing else is the same.

Electric or manual antennae?

Fuel senders CAN be repaired, they are a bit fiddly but they are also available new.

Steel rims or "bundt" style alloy? There is a difference in the hold down bolt.

Yeah, yeah, I know, more questions than answers but certain details need to be known.

I don't have the exact carb linkage pieces you need for the twin Zeniths but I do have a bunch of fiddly bits from my old Solex twin down drafts you could probably cobble together to work.

There's these guys; Tucson Mercedes Club | Chaparral Section - Tucson Arizona
but usually guys just get together and decide on a "let's fix-em-up" day. Kinda of a Benzhead's version of a "spa day".

Desert Panther is planning on coming by my place this week-end to do some fiddly stuff on his 300SD. You're more than welcome to pop by. Pima/Craycroft area.

I bought an ‘88 560SEL about two months ago. I usually pick diesels but I couldn’t resist. 1st Choice Auto Parts on Broadway Rd in South Phoenix is where I go for pick ‘n pull parts. - Mike
