1973/450sl power drain

I have installed and enjoyed my am/fm/cd in-dash receiver for almost two years now. I do have one problem, if I listen to any medium for more than 15 minutes the battery will be drained. Is this normal? The battery is 18 months old. Is there any thing I can do to stop the battery drain. thanks
