1997 W140 Phone Help
On the 1997 S500 the car has the in dash phone with a hand non portable reciever. I understand the phone is analog. How can i adapt any portable phone into the system. I make about 80% of my phone calls within the car with a ear piece. Also im currently with Cingular in Northern California (Sacramento).

I don't think it's been done. And I'm pretty sure you don't want to do it. Only an octopus can reach the dial pad in the dash while driving. Much more sensible to use the voice dial feature in modern phones.
You might talk to Scott at LaJolla Audio about tapping your phone into the hands free speakers and mic of your car. Sixto 95 S420 87 300SDL |

The phone system in your car was made by OKI and connecting into it is not practicle as there are no kits made to do so. The best thing is to put a comlete aftermarket kit in. There are quite a few depending on the type of phone you have and bluetooth is a great option as it will allow upgrading to a new phone easily . The mute function can be tied into and the speakers can be used but microphone and the antenna can only be used for 800mhz/ verizon.
