External audio source hack for MB head unit
Hey everyone, I went on StarTek and got the wiring diagrams for my MB factory head unit and CD changer. Tinkering around I was able to connect an external audio source to my head unit and play through the system, so now my Sirrius and my iPod are directly connected with no modulators or static!
This Alteration to the wiring harness enables an external audio source from any device to be input directly into the factory head unit utilizing all available controls and phone mute operation. The DPST (dual) switch allows you to switch between the ext audio source and the CD changer, the Head unit thinks it is recieving an audio signal from the CD changer when it is recieving signal from an ext source, the display however will read the activity of the CD changer only. Is anyone interested? If so I can email you the plans! Brian |

Me too! That would be great! Those FM transmitter things for the iPods never really work that well.

Hello everyone,
If you go to our MBCA section website at www.mbca.org/northtexas click on audio, and then down at the bottom you will see the wiring diagram. Good luck and happy benzing! Brian |
