Becker 3302 - Cann't find Info?

I acquired a MB Becker Model 3302 Type Audio 30 from a 2002 CLK. I would like to install the unit in a 93 400E (W124). I’ve been searching for wiring diagrams and audio specs on the Becker 3302, but I’m having difficulty finding anything.

I'm familiar with the current radio which is a 2 piece unit. A "head unit" in the dash and a receiver in the tunk - the Becker 1473

Can someone tell me if Becker 3302 is merely a head unit and requires an amp and tuner? Can I power the speakers without the help of a additional amp.

The 400e has 4 ohm Bose speakers, does the 3302 support 4 ohm speakers?

What type or model of CD player will connect to the Becker 3302?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Radio,

let me know if you need the unlock code. i have a code generator program that will unlock just about all newer mercedes radios. send me an email.
also send me a picture of the back of the radio where the plugs are.

You can get the 3302 to work, but it will take some work. The 3302 is basically the new style fiber optic type radio. It uses the now standard ISO plug that Mercedes adopted in 1994. The radio has a built-in amp so an external amp is not necessary, but could be used. I don't remember the changer model # that works, but you want a fiber optic style. Plus you'd need to install a fiber optic cable and power harness.

There's a description and some info on changing out your two-piece radio here

Thanks everyone for the info. This forum is great. I purchased the unit on Ebay and was told it comes with the radio code.

I plan to run new wires to the amp and bypassing the fader. I'll also add an antenna extension and fiber cable.

Becker 3302

If you can't make it work on your vehicle, I 'll buy it from you. It's the perfect match for my car.

Yep. I still have the radio! After reviewing the MANY items i would need to purchase to make this work in my car, I decided to "punt" this project.

Sure, I'll be glad to sell the radio. I have the radio code and extra MB wiring connector.

Just tell me what you think it is worth.

Do you use PayPal for payment?

Thanks,
Russell
