Replacing factory speakers W203 C-class

I want to upgrade the speaker units in my 2001 C-class estate. The speaker grills don't appear to unclip readily so I think the whole door trim may have to come off. Can anyone out there tell me how to get at the speakers?

the door trim panel has to be removed to acess the speakers.
