Radio removal
I have a new radio CD player to replace my Becker Grand Prix with the broken cassette player. I purchased it from Crutchfield and their advice was to remove the ashtray and then the radio. Well I fail to see how to remove the ashtray completely to gain access to whatever is holding the DIN sleeve in place. Can anyone please provide me with directions as to how to remove the old radio and replace it?
Thanks. Although the Becker sounds good, except for the tape function, I would like to move the new radio from the trunk to the dash. |
What model ? what year ?

Yep, it's kinda helpful to know what model you're working on.

Thanks, sorry I did not give that obvious information. It is a 1982 300SD

My guess is that you should slide out the sleve insert of the ash tray and then press down on the tab that protrudes from the center of the rim of the tray's housing. Below the tray are screws that release the cover wood grain panel.
Suggest you do a search for more detailed instruction. |
