problems entering code in 1991 300e radio
 

I have a 1991 300E with a Becker BE 1480 radio. I replaced my battery and need to reenter the radio code, but it won't let me. I turn the radio on and I get a wait message, not the code message I need. I've tried turning it on and off, pressing every button on the radio, leaving it on for a while, and unplugging the battery. Can anyone help me? :confused:

I think you are supposed to leave the key in the on position for an hour.

If not, look up member cleeve on the site, he is a mercedes radio specialist, and will definately know what you should do.
