dash speakers

Buy a reputable set of 4" speakers that YOU like the sound of. Even if they are a fraction over, you can turn semi butcher and bend the steel lip of the speaker on eaither side where it's too close for a snug fit, without damaging the cone. Done it heaps and no effect on sound or any problems with the cones as your not bending them. Just hate to butcher the dash to fit a speaker, better to modify the speaker surround.

I think the biggest problem is the height of the speaker fitting with the stock grilles....the pioneers fit without a problem....Anyone put components in their w123? If so, where did you put them?

I have 4" MB coaxial speakers in front...and 6.5" coaxial MB Quart speakers in the rear (I needed to remove and trim hat tray)........sounds much better than stock.

Beware of coaxial speakers, particularly those with "swivleable" tweeters. Some of them are REALLY tall.
