1987 190e 2.3-16V speaker size

I need to get new speakers for my 190e 2.3-16V. Are the front speakers 4" and the backs 6"? Can anyone tell me what sizes i can possibly use for the backs?

I could only fit 3-1/2" Boston speakers in the front, bedded them with tons of silicone, and I think I was able to fit 4" Boston's in the rear for my 1985 190E.

I fit 4" speakers in the front easily. You can fit 6x9s in the rear, but it will require you to cut out metal so the speaker magnets clear.

appreciate the help

thanks for all the help. I kind of thought that 4" would go in the front. Im probably gonna be the 6x9's for the back and do a little work back there. Thanks again!

6.5" round triaxials will fit in the rear without cutting. 6x9 will need some minor trimming, or you could use speaker risers if you don't mind not having the speakers flush.

Qite odd... I went with 5 1/4 speakers instead of 6x9s and Ihad to trim a little bit of material.I just didnt want the hassle of messing around and possibly messing up that area.

Depends on the size of the magnet. Ive heard people install 6x9s without trimming anything. I dont know if thats true or not.
