Could someone please tell me how I can determine the size of the fuse necessary at the begining of the power cable. Thanks

for your amps. depends on how much power they draw.
If its one amp, a 30 amp fuse should be fine, two amps, a 50 amp or maybe even a 60 should eb ok. it really all depends on how much power you are pulling with your amps. I have used a 60 amp fuse with two amps no problem, combined pulling about 400 watts or so. I use a 30 with the one amp I have now. Best bet is to try a lower fuse, if it blows go to the next higher. So if you try a 30 lets say and it blows, try a 40 if it blows, try a 50, and so on until you find the right one. This of course is not the best way to do it, but it sure does make sense. You don't want to go too high on the fuse, because if the fuse is supposed to blow and it doesn;t, well thats when equipment gets a problem. Hope that helps a little. You might want to call a local stereo shop, and tell them what you have and ask them about the fuse. though they may not be willing to answer you because you didn't buy from them, but it doesn't hurt to try.
