If you have tape with the radio, just by one of the tape adapters (looks like a tape with a cord) for about $15. Put in the "tape" and plug the cord in to the Ipod.

Will this work? I thought the door had to be shut on the cassette deck to play. I KNOW I remember reading that on this forum. Also, I KNOW I remember reading a mod for the old Becker radios that documents how to hook up an aux jack.

Help. I can't find it.

Shoot, for a feew more dollars you could just buy an aftermarket HU that has the I Pod connection. I just got the Alpine iDA-X100 and have my Sirius radio and I Pod plugged into it. It's great.

Agreed, but you're aware that there are some Mercedes owners that don't want to alter the OEM appearance

I just like the BIG print on the buttons --- I can read it without my reading glasses. And the white on black kind of suites Coda's interior.

Yeah, the eyes thing is bad enough......but the memory is the worse part.

I found these links:
http://web.mac.com/dakota/Becker/iPod.html
and
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/attachments/car-audio-multimedia/7265d1049520983-help-front-speaker-questions-w126-i-searched-searched-diagram-mini.jpg ---- don't have the post though.

The first link makes it clear that for a Becker 1480, you have to send it in. I haven't tried to magnify the information on the second link.....

It sure would be nice if someone could pop the cover off a radio that Becker had fitted a line in to and snap a picture or three...

If you convert a Becker or some other stereo unit to be able to attach an I Pod to it, you still can't control the I Pod from the HU, can you? I like being able to control it through the HU.

this may seem like a silly suggestion but here goes. My Becker is a tape player with CD changer. I just got one of those tape adapters that you put into the tape player and pluged the other end into the headphone jack of my IPod...i get no sound distortion and the stock system sounds pretty darn good. it cost me like $20 bucks for the adaptor and it comes with a charger for the Ipod that you can plug into the cigar lighter. Just a thought...
