'97 202 power antenna not responding

It's stuck in the down position. I installed a Nakamichi CD400 a few months ago, and it has this annoying feature that drops the antenna when you switch to CD, etc. So, I suspect it's worn out the motor, or the belt, or something. What do I need to check, and where do I get access to the components/fuses that I need to inspect? Guess it's time to buy a Haynes manual, but the car is under CPO warranty..........(just not the ant.)

So, the motor works. I hear it trying to move, just no action. What can I do to DIY fix it, and where do I access the internals? Wheel well? Trunk? What is involved.

antenna motor

remove the trunk liner on the drivers side, once removed you will see the motor.

thanks for the help

got it, looks like a 2-screw uninstall and reinstall. It's a Hirschmann. I got the mast pulled up, so I will probably just deal with it in this position. Can the unit be serviced? What's in there, a toothed belt? a gear system? Probably easier to replace than to repair.

What about that gear?

Searching the archives for an answer to my problem. My antenna quit raising and retracting yesterday. Last night I broke it down, and noticed the gear inside the assembly looks like it is in two pieces. But the two pieces could be designed that way. If they are broken, the break is so clean it almost looks like a cross-section of the original single gear. Are there supposed to be two gear wheels in there? There is a screw drive, but it only turns one of the pieces.

Does my description make sense? Ray, can you fix this thing? Should I try supergluing the two gears back together?

Thanks!
