straight drop in W126 dash speakers?

What brand of w126 dash speakers can drop right into the dash and provide excellent clarity and sound imaging? The last pair I got....the tweeter pushed up on the grill and was a eyesoar so I dont want that again.

If it is the same size as a w123, a thin 4" speaker is required. I put in pioneer 4" speakers in the dash of my 123. They required no modification at all, and the factory covers fit right on top of them. If you want to go higher quality, rainbow makes speakers that I believe are a straight drop in.

Thumbs up

You could always find how much taller they were than needed, then find out the max top mount height for your application.

Just a thought.
