Question CD changer cartridge won't eject

I have a 1999 S-420. The radio works fine but when I turn the CD player on it says "E--01". When I push the eject button for the cartridge, the green arrow lights up and flashes for 10 seconds but the cd changer cartridge will not eject. Any ideas?

I also posted this in another section which got almost no response. Someone they suggested I try it here, so I am.

Thanxxx in advance

Smile Changer Problem

To All:

In the past 4 years I have seen that the CD changers that are Alpine manufactured for MB failing due to sensors and motors wearing out from use and/or premature failure due to part failure which seems to be happening more often lately. They are repairable however. We have been rebuilding them since the flaws and faults have been identified by our team and the solutions seem to be working for the customers advantage because the return rate is under 1%. We stock all parts needed for rebuilding them even though Alpine refuses to sell parts to anyone for OEM equipment. If anyone needs help they may contact our company directly from our WEB site.
