I would really appreciate if anybody would provide me with this solution.

All of sudden my Becker radio shows dashes across the board. I read owners manual... It gave explanation on why it happened but no solution...

Thank you in advance

Does the radio still operate properly, or has the power been cut and is the radio asking for a code before it will provide you with music again?....

It doesn't ask for code but the antenna works. Radio doesn't play. but when I insert tape it seems to work for an instant and spits the tape right out...

bobby,

It sounds like your radio wants or wanted to have a code because of the constant power to that radio has been cut of for a while. Normally this radio code comes with the car and if you're not having it, you can get it from any MB dealer (by VIN-number).
The antenna works properly because the radio still passes the switched power to the antenna. The tape is being thrown out because of the necessary code.
I don't know whether your radio has asked for a code before the dashes came across the board, but I think it did. The radio probably got several wrong codes and protected itself against unauthorized use by displaying the dashes (which makes it impossible to insert a code). If you keep the radio constantly powered for a long time (I don't know exactly how long, but it should be something like 24 hours) with the dashes in the board, it should allow you to insert (the appropriate) code again.

greetingz,
