Well driving with a Becker is better than driving with no radio so I'm trying to finish up getting this in the new SDL.

I have the power antenna lead there, the harness for the radio reinstalled (power, switched, dimmer, ground), the other harness (Alarm I guess) and just for my life can't figure out the two cables for the Left and Right channels.

Now my problem...

This harness "126 820 68 17" has two pairs of wires from it... black with red tracer/black wire and black with green tracer/black wire. I have no clue if those are to go to the Becker or what? They do have a lil Becker symbol after those numbers.

Also, there is a pair of Black and White female connectors with foam there too. One is black with a yellow tracer/black wire and one is black with a white tracer/black wire.



After reading a thread many times over on here and reviewing a picture with it, I think I have come up with what may work...

Hook the wires in that seperate harness labeled "126 820 68 17" to the Black and White female connectors... then take the last two wires and plug them into the Becker?

Okay after LOTS of head scratching, tracing wires, testing them, finding two dead speakers, and a plethoa of soldering... the SDL now has audio.

I also threw in the "upgraded" rear speakers that have the tweeters mounted until I decide what to do. This OE system is leaps and bounds ahead what was in the SD stock, I'm pretty suprised. I listened to it with just the two speakers that functioned and the output was better than the SDs, so when these systems were new almost 20 years ago they must have been pretty decent provided all systems were go.

Anyway here's what I came up with on the audio wiring end...



The seperate bundle that has the lil Becker tape on it DOES indeed run to the White and Black female inputs behind the dash. Then from there there should be two Male Black and White outputs that connect to the headunit in the bundle with the B and W inputs.

That's aside from the Alarm harness, antenna lead, switched source for the antenna, and power cable.

I have a 1988 560SEL with 84k on it. The radio just recently went bad and I got an aiwa from crutchfield for about a hundred bucks with wiring harness http://www.crutchfield.com/S-X0sOo3Hofv7/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=103000&id=morephotos&pi=1&i=120701860&display=L#Tab

Unfortunatly I wasn't given a diagram for properly wiring the radio into the car. I was wondering if anyone had any information for rewiring the radio?
