Procedure to unlock Becker... I have code...

Thanks to a member here I have the code, since I do what's the action to make this unit operate again?

Basically how I do make the code be accepted/inputed by the headunit.

What year becker?

The older ones, if you are getting just dashed lines, chances are the internal battery is dead, and it constantly will just display that, as it perpetually thinks its disconnected and wont retain a code.

If it is a newer one, plug it in, and leave the iginiton on, it may take up to an hour to say code. Once it does, enter your code and you should be up an running. It may show dashed lines or say wait until it says code.

Take care,

George

It's a model 1480, it's going in the SDL for now until I get something better... as a radio is better than none. :)

My 1432 says "WAIT" ...I have left the radio on all night and it still says wait...does the ignition have to be on ACC, or can I just leave the radio on by itself during the wait period?

Do I really have to leave my radio on, and leave the car untouched for a full 24 hours?? O_O

Yeah it takes a LONG time to reset back to CODE.

It can also be 'bad' when it just displays "WAIT". . . your's may be since it hasn't changed.

Hrmmm... you sure? Everyone I've had from cars that say wait is just the security feature, makes you wait (obviously) until you can re-enter the code.

I thought just the 86-89 ones "- - - -" making them useless until going to the dealer.

It depends how many tries were unsuccesful, if there were too many it may be up to 24 hrs with the ignition on, the radio will self time out of the ignition is not on

I know this is very old, but do you recall how?

I tried to release my 1432 and only the face came out. It had a cereal number on it, which I used to get a code, but after entering it I now just have a “wait” notice. I don’t know how long, or if the faceplate serial number is different from the body.

Thanks!
