In the rear of my 95 C280, there are 3 speakers, two on the left, one on the right. The second one on the left is for the pre-wired speaker phone for the cell phone if installed. I was wondering if anyone would have objections if I wired that second (labeled HIGH FIDELITY) speaker into the stereo (via the speaker next to it.) Is there any reason why I shouldn't? Any info would be great. Thanks in advance!

The speaker itself may not be designed for the use in a stereo. it may only be a speaker designed for the speakerphone.

You might be able to replace it with another speaker though.

Another thing to remember is that by adding another speaker to the same stereo channel than it was designed for, you make the ohm load more than it is capable of and can burn out the stereo if it cannot handle the extra load.

Hope that helps. If I'm wrong someone will correct me.

Speakers that are designed to produce cell-phone noise, will never be able to improve the quality of your hifi system!
By the way: in europe we had additional consoles with an integrated speaker for the cell-phone...

If you want to have anything added to that rear deck system, you will be best of by buying an after market composed speaker system...
