Removing Center Console
I thought I once saw an article on how to remove the center console and center dash trim for radio removal. I'll be running new wiring for my stereo so I need the center console and the center dash trim off. If no article, does anyone have any tips on the process....where the clips and/or screws are located? Don't want to crack or damage anything! Thanks!

To remove the center console on the C220:
1) pry up the black ring that surrounds the shifter 2) remove the shift knob by twisting the ring at the bottom of the knob to unlock it and then lift 3) remove black change tray at front of console by lifting it out 4) remove the two screws on the side of console that you'll see when after lifting out the tray 5) carefully pry up the center plastic piece that has the window controls and shift letter bezel 6) disconnect the window and mirror connectors. Each connector is unique so don't worry about labeling them 7) remove the two screws at the center of the console 8) lift up the storage compartment door and remove the two screws at the rear of the console compartment 9) unclip the plastic piece the holds the phone connector in place 10) you can now remove the console by slowly lifting it up and back Note: you'll need to move the shifter into the neutral position in order to remove the console. I hope this helps. |
