Unhappy Radio Went to static and Keyless Entry inoperable.

I have a 2001 Mercedes Benz C320, the vehicle is out of warranty so I am kinda aggrevated right now.. On the drive home from work today i went to switch the station. When I switched the station, I lost all reception in the radio... So when i got out of my car I went to lock it with the smartkey remote,, and the remote wouldnt work. That battery in the remote isnt dead because I replaced it two weeks ago. What is going on with my Car???? Both systems need an antenna to operate. Where is the antenna Located? What grounds should I check?

Is there a conotrol unit that controls both the radio and keyless entry systems? It sounds like a bad ground,, just dont know where to look.

Rear lip of the headliner, presses against the rear window with these soft touch silicone pads, very sensitive. Didn't have the glass tinted in the last few weeks did ya?

No I didnt, it just stopped working,, i put my fingers back there and felt the connections to see if i could notice some reception difference... i tapped the area ,, and nothing change in the reception.... how do i drop the rear headliner to really get in there and check? I checked the antenna connecton at the back of the radio.... but its clearly an antenna issure if my keyless entry wont work either.. what else should i check??

The radio antennae and keyless entry are all together in the rear window. There should be amplifiers for them back in there as well. Water will kill them and kill them quick, why someone asked about tinting. You will most likely need them replaced. Although you should be able to unlock the doors with the remote via the IR sensor on the door handles in the front.

FWIW the Combar is the thing in the rear of the headliner with the small pads that touch the top of the rear window. Glad it's working OK.

Cannot Find Fuse

I had the exact same problem. However, I cannot find a burned fuse on the panel in the trunk. I guess I will pull the Combar. Is this tough to do?
