And again a Radio code ;-9
So, now it hits me.
If bought a '87 260E and first the radio didn't worked. But I found a broken Groundcable at the Cigarettelightner and now it works.  But - it wants a code and I don't have the code as well as the preowner. What is needed to find out the code? It is a Becker Grand Prix electronic with Cassette (autoreverse) The car is a 260E build in 1987 with the vin WDBEA26D6HA380586 I don't have the tools for getting the radio out of the dashboard, so I don't know whats on the radio. Can someone please help me? Thanx. cu Gustl

Today I just managed it, to get the radio out.
 It is the old mounting with the two springs on the bottom. At the rear I found some more data: Becker Grand Prix electronic Typ 754 Serial No. U 6803712 FTZ No. 21/560S Can anyone please help me?

754s dont have codes, only 780 and up.

Radio has to be reset from Becker... alarm went off making it useless. Cheaper to get a working used one from ebay or a boneyard.

Hi I might have a radio for you! We always take the stock radios out of our mercedes. I think i have one from our old 87 300SDL you can have it for free. Ill see what I have and if they require codes. I might have some of their codes.

Ok I found a 780 but I cant test the power.can anyone tell me which prongs are for power?
then I can put 12 volts on it and see what happens. Can you post a picture of the back of itso I can see if it has the same connections? if you cant I will. If you want it you can have it but you have to pay for shipping, I always read the forums but never post and when I saw this i figure id help a benz brother out.  lol.

SDL came with the 754, no code. Chances are if it worked when pulled it does now too.

Hey hitman I see you have an 87 300SDL great car isnt it? it was my moms and I hated it, good car but i didnt like the looks of it ours was burgundy/tan. She totaled it. some old f*&k ran a stop sign and see hit him ,t-boned him her car wasnt smashed too bad but it was only worth like 8000 so they totaled it and now she drives the W140(which i like
 )
