I need help if someone knows about a Sony CDX – C590 CD/Radio. I got this from a salvaged vehicle and I want to try and put it in my 1983 300SD. I have the wiring harness but I don’t know what some wires are for. I can see which one’s are for the speakers but there are 6 other wires I am not sure of.

The speakers are:

Pair of purple
Pair of gray
Pair of white
Pair of green

The unknown 6 are:

One red (probably the 12 volt positive)
One black (probably the 12 volt ground)
One yellow
One dark blue (it's tagged and says Ant Rem on it, I think it activates the antenna)
One pale blue
One dark blue with a pale blue stripe.

I hope someone has an idea; I will be beholden as they say out here in the west……

You should be able to contact their online service and get a manual as well.

The first address is for the Sony mobile page. The second to the customer feedback page where you can ask questions by model number of Sony product. The 3rd is to the customer service page, where you can do the same thing. The phone number is for customer support. I would try the 2nd and 3rd as emails before I tried the voice line - you could wind up on hold forever.
