Hi guys,
I've just received my 92 400E back from repairs today. The battery was disconnected while the repairs were done, and the radio was flashing the usual "code" on the display. When I entered the code (I have done this before) instead of the radio turning back on, the screen went blank, and then "E 2" appeared on the display. The radio then turns itself off after 1 min. I tried to turn it off and back on again, but the same "E 2" code pops up, and then turns the radio back off. HELP!!! Thanks, Ryan |

Problem...
I went to the board on http://www.beckerautosound.com/ and found the following... hope it helps:
------------- In Reply to: Becker error codes '91 Mercedes 300E posted byGreg on December 17, 19100 at 21:52:09: Car has the original Becker radio. What does an E2 and E3 error code mean. The radio will not work although the attenna goes up when you push the power button and then you get an error code and the attenna goes down. If I tap on the radio electronics box located behind the right side interior trunk panel before the error code appears the radio will work for a while. Any ideas? Greg - I had a similar problem with my 92 400E - It ended up being a ground issue - hope this helps |
