Antenna & Radio Inoperative on 380SL
The stock Becker radio and antenna suddenly died on my 1982 380SL. The antenna will not extend and absolutely no audio or static from the radio. The digital clock in the radio works OK, other lights and components on fuse 1, 12 and 13 are fine. Each time I push the ON button for the radio there is a very slight CLICK that you can hear coming from the radio but nothing else.
I've read a whole bunch of Audio Threads but cannot find a similar problem. If this problem sounds familiar to anyone, I'd appreciate hearing from you. If the solution requires trouble shooting with a volt/ohm meter the potentials on the various leads would be helpful as well. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Jessie P.S. Thanks to those of you who identified the extra (unused) CB antenna lead that just hangs next to the antenna motor. That had me wonderiing for a bit. |

I dont believe there is an external problem... The problem lies inside the radio. My repair shop can help you with this if you are interested. www.lajollaaudiorepair.com
