1973 450sl Power Antenna
 

The antenna on the 73 which is located front left side, goes up only 2 stages. It looks as if it should go atleast 1 maybe 2 more stages up. This is causing very poor reception. My question is how do you access the power antenna motor box? I have checked inside front left fender well, engine compartment,and door sille area, I can not find any access door. Please help.

On that antenna removal is done from behind the parking brake.

The antenna mast (possibly bent) might be "slipping" & therefore not going high enough.
