The EZ900 must be pretty new, Crutchfield is one of the few places that carry it. I'm not sure HD Radio is worth the additional $100 to me now (versus the combined cost of EZ500 and Sirius tuner). Thanks for pointing it out though, I will keep it in mind... And thanks for the pics of the satellite wiring.

for the antenna wire - on top of the roof where it enters under the rear window molding - there is now a tiny gap in the molding.

Did yours do that? Any water problems? I don't see anyway around it other than to seal it...

I attached a picture of what I'm talking about, but it's difficult to see.

Thanks

I guess mine has the same gap but it is really small and not noticable unless you look hard. No leaks or other problems.

at the dealership where I work we see most of the boxes on the decklid with the wire running from underneath the front edge of the decklid.

Thanks Chuck and Dave. I may pour some water in to see what happens... and may end up moving it to the trunk if I can't get over it

Chuck - I haven't forgotten your request for a picture of the radio harness. Should have those tomorrow for you. I did not find any off-the-shelf adapters so I used T-Taps (I only needed to go into 3 wires since I wasn't using any of the original speaker wiring).

Chuck - here are some pictures of the wiring harness. I apologize, despite my best efforts - I couldn't get any clear shots. There was not much extra wire to play with to pull them out far enough to get a clear shot.

I did find a listing of the various wires:
Confirmed (I used these (except ground):
12V battery - Red
Switched 12v - Red/yellow
Ground - Brown
Antenna trigger - black

I did not confirm these since I rewired my speakers, plus I have speakers in the door:
Speakers:
Front L - Gray, gray/red
Front R - Brown, brown/red
Rear L - Black, black/red
Rear R - White, white/red

I thought my install was done... but the sub takes up too much space in my trunk (I originally planned on putting it in the first aid kit area, but was not up to the work involved so I went with a seperate box). I am going to look into mounting it in the spare tire area.

This is very helpful thanks. I still wonder how the "door subs" get their signal. There could be wiring from the radio to the amp in the trunk which is "line level." Or perhaps the amp in the trunk gets the signal from either the front or rear speakers?

And I know you are not going to be using the door speakers and that you are rewiring the speakers altogether, so if anyone else knows.

My birthday is coming up and I've requested the EZ 900 so hopefully I'm be able to start my install project soon. I plan to upgrade the stock speakers and see how it sounds with just the head unit and powered door subs (assuming I can figure out the wiring). I suppose I could add a bigger amp down the road if I need it.
