blaupunkt san diego head unit
The PO installed this in my w124. Sounds fine, but every time the car is turned off all the audio and radio settings disappear and have to be reentered after the car is restarted. I can't believe it was designed like this. Installation instructions say that a permanent power source (yellow wire?) was to be connected. Did the installer do something wrong, and how can I correct this? Thanks.

check.....
Check and see what the yellow (constant power) wire is connected to. It is probably connected to the Cigarrette lighter (which is switched with the key). Try hooking to an always on power source (such as at the hazard light switch.)

thanks, do you know which one of the mb harness wires is the constant power source, if any, since I imagine that would be an easier connection.
