On my 88 300ce, with a blaupunkt san diego head unit & cd changer in the trunk, the cd seems to pause momentarily when the tranny upshifts, especially when the car is cold. Is there any common electrical connection I should check? Any other reason for this? Thanks.

Perhaps the modulator is set a little firm, and the CD skips tracking when the car upshifts?

Usually when skipping starts being a problem it has a tendency to indicate the laser is getting weak. Make sure the mounting is correct for horizontal or vertical mounting depending on which way you have it mounted....
