As I wack away at this car, I find that This German car just needs to be figured out. Its simple in design and makes sense. And to all on this forum, A Big THANK YOU!
Seriously, It would have taken many days, weeks, months to figure out how to take that darn instrument cluster out. Now that my "props" are out of the way, I'm putting Mb quart speakers in my door. Good o'll 6 1/2's. Just wondering, The enclosure has vents in the back of them. Do you think it would be wise to seal them for more of an enclosure for the speaker, or should i leave it the way it is.(maybe the vents magically make more bass. Or something) You guys have GOT to see my doll. She's a beut. as soon as I get a chance, I'll do whatever it takes to get her on here.
Cheers!

Bear with me; I've never seen a 400e interior, but are the enclosures part of the factory system? Or were they built for your quarts. If they're factory, they were designed specifically for the stock speakers; vented boxes are very tricky, as they are tuned to a certain frequency. The boxes are tuned using the specific speaker specs; you cant just put a new pair in and expect them to sound good; it could even damage them. Contact mb quart, and find out what size sealed enclosure they recommend. Then measure the interior of the enclosure (assuming you've covered the ports), multiply height x width x depth and divide by 1728. This is the internal volume in cubic feet - put some filler (mdf works well) in the box to make it the right volume, assuming it's too big for the quarts, then you're good to go. Good luck; i wish my damn 123 had enclosures to start out with!!

Thank you for your reply. You where right! I did contact a shop and spoke to a tech. He said to leave them alone, and that if you did seal them they would be to small of and enclosure. So For all ya'll that didnt know, DONT SEAL THEM! Im putting In a PPI 4100, PPI 2300, MBq 61/2 inch the doors, and MBq 4 inch in the dash. Im building a custom enclosure for a jl audio 12w6 that will fire in the cabin through the rear deck. Oh, and speaking of deck, I have yet to get a Eclipse, either 7002 or a 55430(I think thats the model number, It has a 8volt pre out). well, when im done with it (Yes and i cant wait) Its gonna howl!

Yeah, sounds like it will indeed howl! I didn't seal mine, but am thinking about doing so to see the effect; I have PPI amps and MB Quart speakers, and think the lower mid-range is weak. Will report any results.

By the way, I run a single 12" sub and it ROCKS! However, I run 400 watts to it, so that helps

i run a single 15" sub in a box that had to be modified to fit in my trunk Benzes are fun to put systems in; hard at first, but once they're in they're unbeatable. Good pick on the mb quart- i have mbq tweeters, and while very bright at first, once installed properly they're incredible! PPI and JL's are great stuff too, you'll be very happy - looks like you're going for some nice sq.
By the way - how do you plan to cross over the 4's and 6.5's? I recommend running the 4's and tweets at about 300 and up, and the 6.5's between around 80 (whatever your sub's crossed at) and 300.

That's another thing, I got the 4 inch with tweeter attached, and also got the 6 1/2 with the tweeter separate.
What do all of ya'll think about having two tweeters? I have been thinking about it. I think it's pretty ghetto, but, It will be amazingly bright in there. I'm going for fidelity and accuracy. What do you think?
