New Alpine CD Changer in 94 E320 is causing a beeping sound
Just installed an Alpine CD Changer in my 94 e320. According to Crutchfield's (Where I bought it) it is compatible and it does work. However, there is now a constant beeping sound coming through the speakers when it is in CD mode. Does anyone have a clue to why this is happening? Thanks

In my 94 e320 Wagon, I'm using an Alpine CHM-S630 with a Percision Interface Electronics MBZ-ALP plug converter through Crutchfield. it appears to work well although not very skip resistant when hitting road bumps, maybe because I mounted in the First Aid kit sleeve.
I did discover one problem. The Benz connecter has copper and the cable has alumimum. A greenish oxidation occurred and was interfering with the radio operation. Cleaned it well and used dielectric grease. That cured the problem (although I haven't checked it recently to see if corrosion is reoccuring). Check the connector at the CD. Bob |
