Dead radio
Hi,
The car: 1989 260E (W124) The radio is dead. As a new radio would probably cost more than the value of the car, I'd go with a used one from a MB used parts dealer close to homeQuestions: What Becker radio model do I have? It's a basic original Becker AM/FM Cassette with no separate ampli or CD. I'd like to buy a used unit as a direct replacement. Will I have to get a security code for the new radio. How do I do that? Any advice? Thanks Last edited by Jackd; 02-26-2006 at 08:42 PM. |

bump:!
I'm brigning up my post cause I really need help on this. If I buy a used unit (Becker 1480) from unknown source, will I have a ''radio code'' problem?? If so, who can I find the radio code. not knowing the car it came from? Thanks for your help |

Your radio is a BE 780, the 1480 is almost the same except the 1480 requires a code to be punched in to turn it on. If you buy one make sure to get a code with it. If you get another 780 you dont have to worry about a code.
