I am going to replace the original becker with a standard size auto CD stereo in the dash.. I pulled out the becker, but what remained was the black plastic shell in the dash... without a trial an error session I was hoping someone could tell me if that can remain, and will the std. size stereo fit in??? or do I remove it... if so how... what is holding it in place..... thanks Joe

You mean what held the Becker in there? Just friction, some had lil metal clips.
